Adventures by Disney said it will debut Iceland as a destination in 2018.
Iceland will be the newest in the portfolio of more than three dozen family-vacation destinations for Adventures by Disney, the tour operator arm of the Walt Disney Co.
The eight-day Adventure Through the Land of Fire and Ice itinerary will include traveling to Iceland’s Golden Circle with visits to the Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss and Godafoss waterfalls and Kerid crater. There will also be a stop at the well-known geothermal spa the Blue Lagoon and the Myvatn Nature Baths.
Activities will include a scenic cruise, hiking on ice caps and along waterfalls, a ride on Icelandic horses, a humpback whale-watching expedition, a demonstration of baking bread using geothermal heat and whitewater rafting through the glacial river of Skagafjordur.
The Iceland trip is priced at $6,399 for adults and $6,049 for children, not including airfare (the minimum age for the trip is 8, though 10 and older is suggested).
Adventures by Disney also added departure dates in 2018 for its North America itineraries and revised and added to its itineraries in Germany, Costa Rica and Ireland. There will be new experiences centered in Berlin; additional interactive encounters in Ireland, such as learning the sport of hurling; and visits to Cano Negro in Costa Rica, as a few examples.
